Congress back in session; NAFCU gears up for Caucus

first_img 12SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr As lawmakers come back to Washington this week to resume activities, NAFCU will encourage them to continue work on important credit union issues, including data security, member business lending and regulatory relief measures.This week, two House Financial Services subcommittees will hold a joint hearing Thursday reviewing the Department of Labor’s proposed rule to redefine fiduciary and the consequences it may have on retirement savers, retailer investors and the economy. The Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee and the Capital Markets and Government Sponsored Enterprises Subcommittee will also discuss H.R. 1090, the “Retail Investor Protection Act,” which would put a hold on the Department of Labor’s rule, during Thursday hearing.NAFCU this week is also finishing preparations for its annual Congressional Caucus to be held next week. Attendees will be able to meet with their own lawmakers to discuss the issues most important to them, their credit union and their members.
