The Gypsy King lashed out at Ruiz Jr after the current belt holder had defeated Anthony Joshua via a technical knockout in the seventh round of the bout at Madison Square Garden. But the 29-year-old Mexican dismissed Fury’s jibe and even admitted that he was a ‘big fan’ of the unbeaten puncher. Speaking to TMZ, Ruiz Jr said: “Tyson Fury, he wants to be relevant. He wants to be in the scene. “I like the guy too. I’m a big fan of him. I like how he is. I like his energy.” Joshua is set for a potentially career-defining rematch with Ruiz Jr in December in Saudi Arabia. And another victory for the Mexican could even see him face off against Fury. Ruiz Jr is fully focused on the clash on the dunes, but hinted at future plans to take on the outspoken fighter. He added: “I don’t want to look past Anthony Joshua. “I want to win on December 7, then maybe me and him (Fury) can get in a fight too.” Fury, however, has played down his potential opponents and believes that defeating “average boxer” Ruiz Jr would be a procession. “Hand speed doesn’t just cut it. There’s a lot of heavyweights who have hand speed,” Fury explained to ESPN. “I can beat him with one hand tied behind my back. And even if they want me to stay against the ropes I’d still beat him out there. “All these guys are bums compared to me.”Tags: Andy Ruiz JrAnthony JoshuaMadison Square GardenThe Gypsy KingTyson Furylast_img
