The junior guard began the week with 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and a steal in Wednesday’s 68-64 win at New Orleans. He followed that with a 14-point, eight-assist, six-rebound outing in Saturday’s battle for the No. 1 seed against Nicholls. Veal, a native of New Orleans, La., became the Lions’ single-season assist leader with 190 assists.
